Manchester Township in central Ocean County is a large, mostly wooded township that includes the communities of Whiting, Pine Lake Park and Ridgeway. The Lakehurst section of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst sits largely within the township, and the small borough of Lakehurst is surrounded by it.

Whiting is known for its many age-restricted communities, which draw retirees from North Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Homes there are often smaller single-family homes in association-run communities. Some communities are structured as condos or have land-lease or co-op style arrangements, which affects which loans can be used, so I check the community's structure before you make an offer.
