Local housing context
Atlantic County runs from the barrier island towns of Absecon Island and Brigantine, through the mainland suburbs of Egg Harbor Township, Galloway, Absecon and Linwood, to Pinelands and farm country around Hammonton and Buena. Mays Landing in Hamilton Township is the county seat. Galloway is home to Stockton University, and the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center next to Atlantic City International Airport is a major local employer. Homes near the bays and on the islands are often in FEMA flood zones, so check the FEMA Flood Map Service Center early.

Do I need flood insurance in Atlantic County?
