Down payment

Insurance fills in a rough placeholder from the price; change it to a real quote. Taxes for PA, FL and any home we can't match: enter them from the listing or tax bill.

How the estimate works

  • FHA: includes HUD's upfront mortgage insurance premium, financed into the loan, plus the annual premium from HUD's table for your loan size, down payment and term.
  • VA: includes the VA funding fee for first or later use and your down payment, financed into the loan. VA loans have no monthly mortgage insurance. Veterans receiving VA disability compensation may be exempt from the fee.
  • USDA: includes the upfront guarantee fee, financed, and the annual fee, paid monthly.
  • Conventional: with less than 20% down, private mortgage insurance is shown as an approximate range based on your credit range.
  • Property taxes: for New Jersey addresses, we look up the prior-year taxes from the state's public MOD-IV tax list. Taxes can change after a sale, a reassessment or a new tax year, so verify with the municipal tax collector.
