Pre-approval
Get pre-approved before you shop.
A pre-approval letter shows sellers and agents you’re ready. Start with a quick conversation, then finish in NEXA’s secure application when you’re ready.
How it works
Three steps to your letter
Tell me about your plans
Use the short form or call/text. We’ll talk about your goal, timeline and the programs that may fit, with no credit pull for this first conversation.
Apply securely
Complete NEXA’s secure online application. With your permission, credit is reviewed and you upload income and asset documents. Your Social Security number goes only there, never through this website.
Get your letter
If your application meets lender guidelines, you receive a pre-approval letter you can share with your agent, and I can update it as you make offers.
Pre-qualified vs. pre-approved
Pre-qualification is an early estimate based on what you tell us. Pre-approval comes after an application, a credit review and a look at your documents, so it carries more weight with sellers. Neither is a final loan approval or a commitment to lend.
What to have ready
- Recent pay stubs and W-2s (or two years of tax returns if self-employed)
- Recent bank and retirement account statements
- Photo ID
- VA Certificate of Eligibility or DD-214 if you’re using a VA loan (I can help request it)
- Details of any gift funds or down payment assistance
